FAQ
Email sending questions
How quickly is my account ready?
Most accounts are ready within minutes of payment. At busy times our team finishes the set-up within one working day, and we email you as soon as it is live. Your billing period starts when the account is ready, so you never lose days.
What happens if I send more than my plan?
Paid transactional plans keep sending and the extra emails are billed per 1,000 at your plan's rate, on a separate invoice early the next month. A safety limit stops runaway sending at twice your allowance. Free plans and marketing plans stop at their limit until you upgrade or the month resets.
What is test mode?
Every new account starts in test mode: you can send up to 100 emails a day to your own login address and to addresses on your verified domains, so you can connect your website and try everything. When you are ready, request full access from your client area: verify your domain, add your business address and tell us what you send and how people sign up. Most requests are approved within one working day.
Why are new accounts limited at first?
Mailbox providers trust senders who start small and grow steadily. New accounts can send 200 emails a day for three days, 1,000 a day until day seven and 5,000 a day until day fourteen, then their plan's full allowance.
Can I use it for cold email or bought lists?
No. Only send to people who asked to hear from you. Bought lists and cold outreach damage delivery for everyone, so accounts that send them are paused and closed.
Why was my campaign sent for review?
A new sender's first campaigns, and any campaign our checker scores low, are read by our team first. Most are approved within a few hours on working days.
Do I get my own IP address?
Plans send from Amazon SES's shared IPs, which already have a strong reputation. A dedicated IP is available as an add-on for senders of about 250,000 emails a month or more; below that, a dedicated IP delivers worse, not better.
Can I use my business email mailbox for newsletters instead?
Mailboxes have a daily sending limit and are meant for person-to-person mail. Newsletters belong on email marketing, which handles unsubscribes and protects your mailbox's reputation.
